When help is provided during or immediately after an emergency in order to meet the needs of the people affected, it’s called response. Response or relief can be immediate, short term or for an extended period of time. The focus is giving emergency assistance to those who have been impacted, minimising the chances of further negative consequences and most importantly trying to set the foundation for returning the impacting community to normalcy.
During this time it’s important to cooperate with the authorities for a more efficient response and recovery effort.
Knowledge is power so share it. Knowing what to do, when and how to do it could save lives.
